So I was talking to my friend. This seemed like a prime outlet. I have these random ideas for stories, always have. I remember sitting in my living room, around the time Max Payne was released (no not the movie, the original game), and writing a chapter based off of the story on my ancient Palm Pilot. Yes that was not so long ago but a vivid memory. I always attempted to draw as soon as I could hold pen to paper (or crayon in this case). I drew everything, from zebras to dinosaurs. Never was too fond of buildings or cars though. While I drew I conjured stories. I fixated the artwork around that central point that I was thinking of at the time. I would compare those drawings to my pathetic attempt at concept art.
Moving on though, I realized. I need to begin writing these stories, somewhere. I would pull out a notebook and begin scribbling down all these thoughts but half the time those end up in the garbage. I know I can come on this computer and pull up my ideas. Also, I want people to read them. Give me insight, please.
In addition, I want to just write. I mean in the big scheme of things what I do or what I want to share really isn't that important, I know. Reading it though, for me, is a way for me to analyze and further appreciate my life. Hell, people may even enjoy it.
Thanks for reading. I look forward to sharing with whomever decides to read this. By the way, Prototype...amazing.
It's funny; I can remember being maybe 5 or 6 years old, and I'd be the first one awake in the house. (Strange how that completely changes when we're in our teens and twenties, then end up waking up early by habit/choice in the later years all over again...) I would wake up, turn on a random cartoon, pick up scrap paper and crayons, and draw. The things I drew as a child weren't pictures of houses, with a dog and a brilliant sun shining through the clouds. No...they were drawings of BADASSES. Guys that you'd find in a Jean Claude Van Dam or Chuck Norris movie, who by the way, I was a big fan of when I was kid, long before the WoW community got a hold of him. The mind of a child is so fascinating, sometimes. I look at my creativity back then, and wish I had even half of that these days. Maybe I AM destined to do something like that...
ReplyDeleteAdding to that Chuck Norris thing:
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw that movie, Sidekicks, with Chuck Norris, I WANTED TO BE HIS SIDEKICK.
.__.
I was in love with Walker, Texas Ranger.
ReplyDeleteLOL
ReplyDeleteSorry, but that was one show I just couldn't get into.
But, on the subject of badasses, I totally watched the old school American Gladiators when I was a kid. I was a fan of Turbo. I think that was his name. haha
